Examinations

At Young Smiles, we offer every pediatric patient a tooth and gum examination.

At Young Smiles Pediatric Dentist, we believe in the early recognition of dental problems, and we encourage healthy dental practices. We begin every dental relationship with an initial oral examination and we encourage our patients to complete examinations every 6 months thereafter. During this examination, your child will receive a thorough visual examination and we will assess their teeth and gums. Next, we will diagnose dental problems and develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to meet your child’s needs. We have a digital x-ray machine one site, which enables our staff to also take panoramic and bite-wing x-rays. After the examination, we will complete a thorough cleaning of your child’s teeth and apply fluoride.

Infant Oral Examinations

As per the American Dental Association Guidelines, it is recommended that children receive their first dental exam by the age of 1. We look forward to celebrating your Child’s first birthday by introducing healthy dental habits that will last a lifetime.

6-Month Check-ups

The American Dental Association recommends that children receive dental examinations and cleanings every 6 months. By maintaining regular check-ups, we work with you to keep your child’s teeth as healthy as possible. Children with gum disease may require more frequent visits. During these regularly scheduled visits, we celebrate “Young Smiles” that are cavity free by ringing the bell and chanting “no cavities” as a staff.
